John Wilson

John Wilson is a Canadian personal-finance writer and the founder of CleverBanker.ca, the financial-literacy site he built and ran from 2021 to 2025 (now retired). He writes CoinCompass's English guides, news and company analysis.

Born in Vancouver and based in Toronto, John holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and has roughly two decades of experience across publishing, insurance and corporate finance. He started CleverBanker to help improve financial literacy in Canada.

A long-term Canadian-equity investor, John has publicly disclosed holdings that include Boyd Group, Constellation Software, MTY Food Group, CCL Industries and Enghouse Systems — some of which CoinCompass covers. Assume he may hold positions in companies he writes about; see our disclosures.
