Brookfield Corporation
A global owner-operator and alternative-asset compounder whose value sits in its 73% stake in Brookfield Asset Management, a wealth-solutions insurer, and a carried-interest-rich operating portfolio.
L'entreprise
Brookfield Corporation is the parent entity of the Brookfield group. Its value is built from three engines: an ~73% ownership of the asset manager (BAM), a growing wealth-solutions / insurance business (Brookfield Wealth Solutions), and direct ownership of operating businesses in infrastructure, renewables, real estate and private equity plus accumulated carried interest.
Management steers the group toward distributable earnings (DE) rather than IFRS net income, which is heavily distorted by consolidation and fair-value swings. BN reinvests most cash into growth and buybacks rather than a large dividend.
Les avantages concurrentiels
Scale and a ~50-year operating track record give Brookfield privileged access to large, complex real-asset deals few competitors can underwrite.
A permanent-capital insurance balance sheet plus long-dated fund capital lets it invest counter-cyclically without forced selling.
Carried interest and accumulated capital compound over decades, an advantage that is difficult for newer managers to replicate.

Rendement du flux de trésorerie disponible et croissance durable
Rendement du flux de trésorerie disponible : ≈5.7% (est.)LTM distributable earnings of US$6.0B ($2.54/share) ÷ ~US$44.62 unit price ≈ 5.7% (DE used as the free-cash proxy for a holding company).
DE before realizations hit a record US$5.4B in FY2025 and grew again in Q1 2026, driven by fee-related earnings at BAM and rising insurance earnings. Management's multi-year plan targets low-teens annual DE-per-share growth funded by fee growth, insurance spread income and monetizations, supplemented by buybacks below intrinsic value.

Valorisation et points à surveiller
On distributable earnings the picture is far cheaper than the ~83x IFRS P/E implies: LTM DE of $2.54/share against a ~US$44.62 unit price is roughly a 5.7% DE yield. Management argues the sum-of-parts (BAM stake at market, insurer, and carried interest) exceeds the share price, and the shares trade at a persistent discount to their stated plan value.
Dividende
BN pays a small dividend (US$0.26/yr, ~0.6% yield) by design, retaining and reinvesting the bulk of cash into growth and share repurchases rather than distributions.
Risques et scénario baissier
- IFRS results are volatile and hard to read, and the reported value rests on management estimates of carried interest and NAV.
- Heavy exposure to interest rates, real estate (especially office) and leverage across the group.
- Complex, related-party structure with the asset manager and affiliates creates governance and conflict-of-interest scrutiny.
Faits récents
Reported record FY2025 DE before realizations of US$5.4B (Feb 2026) and a strong Q1 2026 with LTM DE of US$6.0B.
Q2 FY2026 results are scheduled for Aug 13, 2026; the insurance/wealth-solutions arm continues to scale.
Verdict
BN is best understood as a long-duration compounding vehicle whose economics are obscured by IFRS accounting; the DE-based yield and sum-of-parts look reasonable, but the thesis depends on trusting management's NAV and carry estimates and on tolerating leverage, real-estate exposure and structural complexity. This is a publisher's analysis, not investment advice.
